International Day of Peace Ruidoso Activities

7:00-7:30 am Peace Begins with You-Morning Meditation Meditate with peaceful music followed by a short presentation on finding your "peace within". This event will be held behind the Ruidoso Public Library at the outdoor theater.

12:00-1:00 pm Warriors for Peace - Peaceful Leaders in History Join the ENMU History Club who will share information on Peace in History. Bring your lunch and enjoy refreshments at ENMU-Ruidoso, room 105.

4:00-5:00 pm Kids for Peace - Peace Day Parade Meet at the Kids Connection Pavillion for music and activity followed by a short walking parade procession around a portion of the Links Walking Trail beginning around 4:30 pm and ending at the outdoor stage behind the library. Bring your peace costumes, flags, banners, bubbles, buttons, bells and other noise makers, and let the communities of Lincoln County and Mescalero know you value peace! This is an event for all ages.

6:00-8:30 pm - Give Peace a Dance Enjoy peace shared through the arts at an all ages Peace Day Celelbration held at Common Ground in the Sierra Mall (next to ENMU). Scheduled activities include live music, dancing, "Make Art, Not War" crafts table and speakers addressing the value of peace in our homes, schools, and community.

All Peace Day activities are free thanks to local community partnerships. Special thanks to Andrea Reed of Common Ground, Mayor Ray Alborn, Parks and Recreation, ENMU-Ruidoso, ENMU-Ruidoso History Club, High Mesa Landscaping, Lou Ann Ellison, others who have contributed to planning this event. Bring friends and enjoy the day.

Earth Day Picnic

Thanks to Keep Ruidoso Beautiful, the Village of Ruidoso, and wonderful volunteers, the Earth Day Picnic is on!!! Bring your picnic supplies, friends and neighbors and join this free event geared towards strengthening our community and promoting stewardship and social responsibility. There will be music, entertainers, geocaching, games, prizes and surprises. Don't forget to bring your old clothes to exchange for new (used) ones at the clothing swap booth. It should be a blast so don't miss it. Volunteers still needed :>

" As the process of Bio-Genesis continued with Barbara using the healing pyramid, I felt my body getting lighter and expanding at the same time as if my aura had grown several inches in every direction. It felt good, it felt warm as colors of wonderful light filled me. I began to feel and hear within a musical sound as well. It was vibrated like surround sound or a spinning vortex of energy. It started in the lower frequencies and just as my aura began to feel lighter, so the music was felt higher in frequency. I was bathed in light and sound as my whole body and aura vibrated to a higher frequency.
Afterwards, I still felt lighter, refreshed and in a happy mood. I wasn't wiped out or drained of energy but rather contained more.

HMHC has 15-20 practitioners, teachers, and group facilitators associated with the Center offering many services and classes.

What is Kirtan Singing?

Kirtan (Sanskrit: "to repeat") is call-and-response chanting performed in India's devotional traditions.. When this chanting is done as a private meditation it is called japa but performed congregationally with instruments, and often dancing, it is called kirtan or sankirtan (from san (complete) kirtan). The person performing the Kirtan is known as a Kirtankar.

In the ancient Sanskrit text the Bhagavad-gita(9.13) Krishna states that great souls are always engaged in glorifying him with kirtan. The practice was popularized in the Hindu devotional revival of the fifteenth CCE, exemplified by the Bengali Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and others.

Kirtan practice involves the chanting of hymns or mantrasto the accompaniment of instruments such as the harmonium, the two-headed mrdanga or pakawaj drum and karatal hand cymbals. It is a major tenet of Vaisnavadevotionalism, Sikhism, the Santtraditions, some forms of Buddhism, and other sects.
