New ITP Group Forming

New Group Forming …

"Whatever your age, your upbringing, your education; what you are made of is mostly unused potential."

- G. Leonard

A new, local group interested in personal development, community involvement and establishing a long-term practice will be accepting new members for a minimum six month commitment at High Mesa Healing Center (HMHC). We are looking for interested participants eager to commit to a fun, working group that will start on July 14th, 2008 and grow into a close knit community. As of June 16th, you may drop- in to our current group and learn more about our ITP practice and how it will benefit your life.

The practice is based upon Michael Murphy's (Esalen Institute cofounder) and George Leonard's (human potential explorer and author) development of an Integral Transformative Practice (ITP).

What is Integral Transformative Practice (ITP)?

ITP is a long-term program initiated at Esalen Institute for realizing greater success, health, and fulfillment in our lives and for realizing the full potential of body, mind, heart and soul in the life we are given.

The practice is INTEGRAL in that it deals with the body (through exercise and eating habits), the mind (by reading and discussing books and articles concerning human potential), the heart (through group process and community activities, and the soul (via meditation and imaging).

The practice is TRANSFORMATIVE in that it is aimed at measurable, positive individual change in body and being.

It is a PRACTICE in that it involves long-term, regular, disciplined actions which are of value to the individual irrespective of any specific short-term external rewards. In other words, these actions and activities are of intrinsic value and demonstrate improved quality of life and nurture tangible human growth.

What we need from you:

Early participation! If you are looking to make a desired change, enrich your personal life or become more community oriented, pick up a copy of THE LIFE WE ARE GIVEN by M. Murphy and G. Leonard (ISBN# 0-87477-792-5) and join our discussion now. We are meeting every week on Monday evenings from 6-8PM. You can get more details by contacting VILLAGE WELLNESS at 258-2258.

"Body and mind reflect and influence each other with amazing fidelity." - G. Leonard

No, Kate Winner is NOT Leaving Us!

here's an announcement from Barbara . . .

Kate is just changing her role at High Mesa Healing Center to one that works best for her.  We are grateful she will continue to be available as a friend, coach, consultant and the Omni Crone.

Kate's organizational skills and her computer skills have done wonders around here at High Mesa for the past 2 years.  We continue getting positive feedback about our web site and for that we must add Kate’s partner, Joel Carothers, into this loop of gratitude.  What a team they are working together!

We could not allow the ‘Kate transition’ to take place without some sort of recognition and celebration . . . but what’s the best way to honor a person who is the best of friends, has passion and compassion in her heart and soul, and has incredible vision and drive?  A few weeks ago a group of about 30 folks gathered to express their love and appreciation to Kate; and what a celebration it turned out to be as folks gathered to share experiences, joys and food.  We were fed on so many levels.

As a continuing celebration of Kate we decided to plant some shrubs at HMHC.  So here we go, Kate and I, shopping for the right plants to put into our planters at the entrance of the Center.  We picked a great day . . . we had so much fun slopping around in the rain and stopping at all our favorite nurseries until we found just the right shrubs, a couple of Russian Purple Sages that will bring bees and butterflies to our entrance.

Let me introduce . . . Paula Allen (a.k.a. The Paula Person) who brings new energy and uniqueness to us.  She’s a self-described 'people person' and 'Curious George' and is eager to assist the HMHC Team, our Colleagues, and our Customers as the eyes, ears, and voice of the Center's general operations.

W.A.L.K. in the Woods: HMHC Style

HMHC personnel and colleagues turned out in fine style for the “W.A.L.K. in the Woods” Health and Safety Fair last Saturday, May 3.

Barbara and Paula were joined by colleagues Linda Schreiber, Jim Blackburn, Vanessa Armstrong, Boyd Sibley, Kelly Lynn, and Shiva Reinhardt.Walk1_2

Wind was definitely an issue with our display boards, but it never swept away our smiles and attitudes as we greeted passersby.  Walkers were many and we had ample opportunities to share a bit about HMHC and the therapies, classes and programs we have to offer!

Way to go, HMHC Team!  . . . we had a great time and we’ll be back next year!  Walk_4

WORLDWIDE DRUM VIGIL MARCH 21

Heartbeat_newsletter_picture_in_jp

: WORLDWIDE DRUM VIGIL MARCH 21

Beloved Community Drum Keepers,

We have the unique opportunity to Sound the Heartbeat Together in our MARCH 21, 2008 WORLDWIDE DRUM VIGIL. The Grandmother Drum International Peace Project and Community Drum Keepers will join together with:

1. The International Indigenous University: The Ceremony of 8,000 Sacred Drums.

8,000 DRUMS on March 21 at noon / central time
March 21, 2008

From the Otomi Ceremonial Center
Temoaya, Mexico

According to a Sacred Prophecy revealed at the Otomi Ceremonial Center by the Otomi Elder Sages as a Vision of our Venerable Ancestors, the day when the sounds of 8,000 Sacred Drums join together will be the beginning of the healing of Mother Earth, of all the species and the human family in order to be able to live together on the road to Sacred Peace.

It is time to unify ourselves and rediscover all the seeds of the Four Directions in order to reactivate cosmic energy, heal historical wounds and heal Mother Earth by respecting life, liberty and the dignity of our Peoples. The first great ceremony was held March 21, 2004 in Temoaya, Mexico and there will be drum circles joined around the world on the Spring Equinox continuing every year until 2012.

Sacred Principles:

*Sealing and healing the wounded vertices of Mother Earth is urgent.
*Identifying and activating the Indigenous energy centers at sacred places is our duty.
*Planting and strengthening consciousness of love and respect for our Mother Earth is everyone's work.
*The Indigenous ancestral recommendation to create and practice the Grand Culture of Peace and Life is fundamental.
*Recognition of the use of the energy and healing properties of our sacred instruments is a principle goal of our Indigenous Mission.

Fulfillment of the Prophecies...

500 year-old Otomi Prophecy...When 8000 sacred drums play together, an intense healing of Mother Earth will commence.

Inca... Call it the 'Age of Meeting Ourselves Again'.

Hopi... Predict a 25 year period of purification followed by End of Fourth World and beginning of the Fifth.

Mayan... Call it the 'end days' or the end of time as we know it

Maori... Say that as the veils dissolve there will be a merging of the physical & spiritual worlds.

Zulu... Believe that the whole world will be turned upside down.

Hindu... Kali Yuga (end time of man). The Coming of Kalki & critical mass of Enlightened Ones.

Aztec... Call this the Time of the Sixth Sun. A time of transformation. Creation of new race.

Pueblo... Acknowledge it'll be the emergence into the Fifth World

Cherokee... Their ancient calendar ends exactly at 2012 as does the Mayan calendar.

Tibetan... Kalachakra teachings are prophesies left by Buddha predicting Coming of the Golden Age.

Egypt... According to the Great Pyramid (stone calendar), present time cycle ends in year 2012 AD

Dogon... Say that the spaceship of the visitors, the Nommo, will return in the form of a blue star.-Courtesy of Bernardo

NOTE: 8000 Drums Magic Number
This number 8000 has a very special relationship.

It has been found that it takes a certain number of
people to start a shift within human consciousness.
That number is the square root of 1 per cent.

There are over 6.5 billion people on Mother Earth right
now and square root of 1 per cent is around 8000

So the 8000 is around the minimum number we need to start this
process of healing. Amazing!!! this prophesy has a number directly
related with our human consciousness.

As we do this drumming, we can also FEEL the HEALING
of ourselves and Mother Earth as if it has already happened.

In other words, step into that future where this healing has
already taken place and give THANKS to the CREATOR for
giving us this blessing.

Healing Touch Day is March 6, 2008

Healing Touch Day is March 6, 2008

In Lincoln County, members of the Healing Touch community celebrate Healing Touch Day on March 6th, with an open house at High Mesa Healing Center. There will be refreshments, a tour of the campus as well as complementary Healing Touch sessions. The open house will begin at 2 PM with an Introduction to Healing Touch and complimentary sessions to follow. There will be a drawing for gift certificates redeemable for healing sessions and merchandise from the book store. We will be here for you to experience Healing Touch until 5 PM.

Healing Touch is an energy therapy that uses gentle touch to assist the body, mind, and spirit in returning to wholeness. HT is a hands-on therapy that promotes relaxation, supports healing after surgery and illness, and may provide relief from stress, depression, and pain. Individuals experiencing the modality frequently describe an increased sense of peace and well-being after a session. Several national research studies about Healing touch are currently underway.

Healing Touch was founded by Janet Mentgen, a nurse who wanted to bring greater healing and well-being to her patients. Developed as a continuing education program for nurses, and available for the general public, it is a complete program with five levels of training, a one-year mentorship, and a rigorous certification process. Healing Touch has been taught to medical professionals as well as the lay public and is being used in nineteen countries worldwide.

March 6th marks the 12th anniversary of Healing Touch International, Inc., a non-profit certification, education, and membership organization that serves Healing Touch providers, instructors, and the general public.

Healing Touch arrived in Lincoln County May 17th 1992, when Barbara Mader, RN, CHTP (Certified Healing Touch Practitioner) opened her practice in Alto at the High Mesa Healing Center. Well over a hundred students have studied Healing Touch at High Mesa Healing Center.

On October 5th, 1995, Janet Mentgen, founder, came to teach an advanced class to over 30 students. They came from all parts of the United States, from as far away as Washington and Nashville. Most had never been to this part of the country and were truly enchanted with the beauty and hospitality. Many vowed to return to see more of southern New Mexico, and some did return. Many remarked that this area's atmosphere is very conducive to healing work.

We look forward to seeing you here at High Mesa Healing Center on March 6, 2008.

Healing Touch continues to expand worldwide and is currently taught throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, Romania, India, South Africa, Trinidad, Italy, and South America. Over 50,000 individuals have taken Healing Touch classes. New areas are continually opening and requests are being received from the international community to continue to offer programs. Healing Touch is in harmony with people from all walks of life.
